Women in the wine industry have been making significant strides, breaking barriers, and challenging stereotypes traditionally associated with this field. Historically, the wine industry has been male-dominated, particularly in roles such as vineyard management, winemaking, and sommelier positions. However, in recent years, women have been gaining recognition for their contributions and leadership. Female vintners, sommeliers, and wine critics are bringing fresh perspectives and expertise, enriching the industry with diverse insights. Organizations and initiatives are also emerging to support and mentor women in wine, fostering an inclusive environment where talent is recognized irrespective of gender. These changes are not only enriching the wine world with more varied and innovative products but also paving the way for future generations of women to lead and excel in every aspect of the industry.

We celebrate this day with wines from 2 female wine makers in South Africa, Alex McFarlane (McFarlane Wines) and Callan Williams (Garajeest Wines). All the wines by these two wine makers will be discounted on the day.
